Fender Twin Amp 2x12 (100 watt) 8 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
i bought this amp around a year and a half ago.

**********************************************************

PROS:

-great tone for clean or low gain sounds at high volumes. possibly the best i have ever achieved.

-very durable. has never glitched out on me.

-tremelo is awesome. its the real thing.

-spring reverb is works like all the others.

-well built. has casters to facilitate moving it around places.

CONS:

-tone might be great for clean/low gain stuff, but it really muds up when you try to get the gain knob over 3. kinda sounds like your trying to overlap the same gain over and over to get more, so it really sounds cheap.

-reverb makes a bad hum when you pull the knob outta the zero notch. it gets a little annoying and makes you not wanna use the reverb at all. (which is what i do)

-very durable. but this has to balance out the fact that the thing almost weighs 90 pounds! dont break your back trying to lift this thing. its HEAVY.

-tremelo doesnt work on 25w. so if you want to use it, you gotta be at 100w. this means you cant get the natural tones of a cranked 25w AND the tremelo. maybe they should have thought this through.

*********************************************************

now dont think that just because the cons are longer means that this amp has more problems than its worth. it is a GREAT amp. it all depends on what kind of music your deciding to play. for high gain stuff, its not what you want. for jazz/blues. you NEED this amp.

dont hesistate to buy.

Hi wattage amps of this sort show pedals for what they really are. When you run a tubescreamer into a twin, you can almost see the square waves coming out of the amp. What kind of pedals are you running.

im running an Ibanez Tubescreamer (the reissue one) and a damgage control solid metal.

it sounds great when you use the tubescreamer. (with a little of the amp overdrive)

but you cant use much without it mudding. dunno

when i run the Solid Metal on the clean channel, it sounds good. (but better if you run stereo with a mesa or something.

got any ideas for improving my sound Tino? haha...

This may seem strange but have you tried hitting it real hard with a hammer or mallet? Perhaps a large monkey wrench? For any other gear related problems call: 936-462-90??

What brand was the monkey wrench. You have to use the right one.
